What You Will Learn

Fun and easy to follow beginners watercolor will explore many different advanced and beginner watercolor techniques. We will do many practice studies learning the medium, and then we will do project-based compositions. These compositions will focus on landscapes, portraits and paying homage to historical watercolor artists.

Course Projects


*Prepare your own materials
  • 8.5 x 11-inch Watercolor paper
  • Paint brushes
  • Watercolor palette will at least 12 colors
  • Pencil
  • Paper Towels
  • Scrap sheets of paper( printer paper or lined paper)
  • Painters tape or scotch tape



Megan Easterling

BFA in North Carolina Central University | Certified Teaching Artist, Painter, Illustrators


Megan Easterling is a certified teaching artist who has worked with elementary after-school arts enrichment programs for the past three years.
Her teaching style involves art appreciation, fundamentals, and STEAM. She thinks it is necessary to teach how to think like an artist through creative problem-solving.
Megan has a BFA and a teaching artist certification from North Carolina Central University. She is a multidisciplinary artist who works primarily to express her emotions and passions. Her work is displayed through paintings, illustrations, and sculptures.

Her students will gain a solid foundation in basic art techniques and fundamentals. She expects that they will confidently problem-solve with their new knowledge through creative thinking and progressively improve their creations. Overall her goal is for her students to have fun while creating and learning.
