Mandarin Classics: Intermediate - WEEK 10| G3-G4

Overview

This summer, we will lead young Champions to read the highly influential, timelessly inspiring Chinese Classics literature, incorporate with the Mandarin language fundamentals (speaking/listening/reading/writing).

Our knowledgeable Mandarin teachers dedicate to forming a reader-friendly group, immersing in the literature world. G3-G4 learners will read a simplified version book, including multi-media materials such as video, illustrated books, and comics. The class language will be Mandarin only. 

Class Objectives: Keep continuity of the Mandarin Practice; enrich Mandarin Language and Culture with different perspectives and topics; learning through projects; cultivate good reading habits.

If sign up for the full 10 weeks courses, your students will learn: 

  • to use new vocabulary, phrases, part of speech, and idioms
  • to gain a profound understanding of the novel in a historical context
  • to summarize the chapter and present some details in written or oral forms
  • to discuss the implied meaning of the chapter and support with evidence from the book
  • to tell the difference among characters in the Chinese classics
  • to compare the stories with modern stories
  • and much more!

    Grade (2021 Spring): Grade 3 - 4 (please also consider language pre-requisite)

    Prerequisite:  Champion 3A/B-4A/B 已学习暨南大学教材 第四册-第五册/学完马立平三年级或正学马立平四年级 (Previous Champion 1A/B-2A/B Have learned or learning Zhongwen Vol. 4-5 / Heritage Chinese G3-G4, or any equivalent experience)

    Ms.Li (Suzy)

    Ms. Li had taught high school English in Hebei and Beijing for more than 30 years. She got her bachelor’s degree in English Education from the Normal University of Hebei. She worked as a substitute Mandarin teacher in Champion Learning Academy (Champion) in 2016-2017. Since 2019, she has been teaching Mandarin both at Champion and Raleigh Academy of Chinese Language (RACL). As a professional teacher with 30+ years of teaching experience, Ms. Li understands the fundamental principles of education. She knows how to effectively teach students knowledge with love, patience, and a sense of responsibility. All her classes are lively and interesting so that her students are always motivated and engaged in learning.

    • 50% refund, notice us less than 7 days and more than 3 days before the online session start date.

    • No refund; notice us less than 3 days before the start of the online camp session. 

    • If an online class cancellation is made by Champion Camp due to low enrollment, there will be a full refund for tuition. Any class cancellation will be announced at least 7 days before the session starts.
