This course is designed to get ready to transit in college-level Calculus classes. Students who vision themselves studying STEM-related fields in college will find this course helpful to reach their goal. STEM Math Courses using a universal designed learning method to help students become competitive in a global economy.
What is Pre-Calculus:Pre-Calculus is a set of courses that includes algebra and trigonometry at a level which is designed to prepare students for the study of Calculus.
Students will learn
- Intercepts, zeros
- Critical points and points of inflections
- Increasing and decreasing intervals
- Continuity and End Behavior
- Tests for Symmetry
- Even and Odd Functions
- Average rate of change
- Parent Functions and Transformations
Instructor will adjust the speed and amount of content covered depending on the needs of the students. The goal is to make sure that students are proficient on all areas covered – quality over quantity!

I created a mentorship program for retired professionals to tutor and mentor at-risk students, consistently bringing grades from D’s and F’s to A’s and B’s. My students often come from at-risk, low-income families yet have gone on to study at Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Georgetown University to name a few.
