What You Will Learn

This course teaches the basics of creating comics, with the goal of students producing their own personalized comic books and comic strips. The course is open to beginners and experienced artists alike. Students will learn Comics-related terminology, cartooning techniques, comics theory as a medium, visual storytelling, lettering, and scriptwriting for comics.

Project 2: Designing/ drawing a new character and showing them in action (inking if penciling is complete)

Hello, my name is Jaye. I am an illustrator and writer. I have had my art published in two children's books and several comics anthologies. I have also produced many comics, illustrations, and prose stories that have been self-published. I earned a BFA in Cartooning from the School of Visual Arts and a BS in Biology from the City University of New York.
